I wake up in the morning
It’s a typical day
You’re all that’s in my head
And I roll out of bed
And instantly check
If I have a text
From you although
I know that I usually
Fall asleep later than anyone else
So I guess I just like
To humor myself
Hoping maybe you woke up
In the middle of the night
Thinking of me just like
I do with you sometimes
I throw on ragged old clothes
Then sulk into work
Just another day in the factory
Where it’s just me and my machine
And 9 hours of exploring my head
For new words and new ways to say
How infatuated with you I’ve become
So I can post them on here
In hopes that you’ll read them and wonder
If they’re about you
I check my phone thoughout the day
Hoping to see your name
Above a short message to say
Good Morning, Good Afternoon
Or what have you
Ended by a smiley face
Because I’m too chicken shit
To do it myself
Out of fear I’m bugging you too much
Or crossing the line
And I dance around and ignore
The thought of your boyfriend
Because well
That’s just how selfish I am
And I want to tell you everything
That I shouldn’t and can’t
It actually makes me fill bloated
Like I’m about to burst
So I release the pressure with words
Alot like these
Unorganized and clumsy
Saying I wish I was as lucky
As all the people who get to see you everyday
Then I start feeling pathetic and hating myself
Because that’s just what I do well
And I use my imagination
Until my heart swells
From all the things It knows it can’t tell
But I guess it can’t do any harm
To put this all on display
And in a very vague way
Show you what it’s like to be
